The Divine Liturgy (Kidase) is the central act of worship in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. It is the sacred Eucharistic service in which the bread and wine are transformed into the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Liturgy is conducted in Ge’ez, the ancient sacred language, and includes prayers, hymns, and readings from Scripture.
